10-8-2021 WE HEBBEN GOED NIEUWS
Het bedrijf Elemental Water Makers uit Den Haag gaat een waterfabriek op Hafun installeren!
Het kostte ons wat moeite om de gang van zaken helder te krijgen maar het fonds “Save the Children” is opdrachtgever voor de waterfabriek in Hafun.
Vanuit hun kantoor in Engeland wordt de installatie aangestuurd.
Op de foto van juni dit jaar ziet u de aankondiging van de start van het project. Links staat dhr. Axmed Maxamed Yusuf Taraan van het Ministerie van Water en rechts dhr. Jaamac Faarax Hasan, van het Ministerie van Gezondheid van Somalië. De heer met de microfoon is Mohamoud Mohamed Hassan, woordvoerder van Save the Children, hij spreekt ook Nederlands.
Zij bedanken hier, naast Save the Children, het Britse fonds “Becht Family Charitable Trust” en een Nederlandse stichting die liever buiten de publiciteit wil blijven, voor hun bijdragen.
Ook bedanken ze onze voorzitster, mw. Nuora Osman, die belangeloos haar grond voor het komende waterleidingbedrijf beschikbaar heeft gesteld.
Ondanks de grote afstand proberen wij het project zo goed mogelijk te volgen en de plaatselijke autoriteiten, zoals mayor Barre, te ondersteunen.
Mevrouw Osman heeft haast dagelijks contact met de mensen die banden hebben met Hafun, soms overal in Europa terechtgekomen.
Wij vinden het van het grootste belang dat kennis en geld bij de juiste mensen en organisaties terecht komen. De doelstelling moet steeds transparant te volgen zijn: goedkoop water leveren mèt en vóór de bewoners.
Dat deze weg niet gemakkelijk is leert de ervaring, maar biedt wel de meeste zekerheid voor een duurzaam waterleidingbedrijf. Het is voor ons heel belangrijk dat geen buitenlandse investeerders, die het alleen om het geld gaat en wat ze van Hafun weg kunnen halen, hier voet aan de grond krijgen.
Wij bedanken ook de mensen van “Save the Children”, “Becht Family Charitable Trust” en andere donateurs voor hun bijdragen en wij hopen op een constructieve samenwerking.

The company Elemental Water Makers from Den Haag is going to install a water factory on Hafun!
It took us some effort to clarify the state of affairs, but the “Save the Children”funded building the water factory in Hafun.
The installation is controlled from their office in England.
The photo, from june this year, shows the announcement of the start of the project. On the left is mr. Axmed Maxamed Yusuf Taraan, from the Ministry of Water, and on the right is mr. Jaamac Faarax Hasan, from the Ministry of Health from Somalia. The gentleman with the microphone is Mohamoud Mohamed Hassan, country director of Save the Children, he also speaks Dutch.
They thank, beside Save the Children, the British fund “Becht Family Charitable Trust” and a Dutch fund that wants to remain anonymous, for their generous contributions.
They also thank our chairwoman, Mrs. Nuora Osman, who selflessly made her land available for the coming waterworks.
Despite the great distance, we try to follow the project as closely as possible and support the local authorities, such as mayor Barre.
Mrs. Osman has almost daily contact with the people associated with Hafun, sometimes all over Europe.
We believe it is of the utmost importance that knowledge and money reach the right people and organisations. The objective must always be transparent: to supply cheap water with and for the residents.
Experience has shown that this path is not easy, but it does offer the most certainty for a sustainable water company. It is very important to us that no foreign investors, who only care about the money and what they can take away from Hafun, get a foothold here.
We also thank the people of “Save the Children”, “Becht Family Charitable Trust” and other contributors for their help and we hope for a constructive cooperation.
